10 Standout Scenarios for DreamGen
Best DreamGen scenarios for AI roleplay. Our community-curated guide covers genres, recommended models, and what makes each one shine.
DreamGen is an AI story and roleplaying platform that has hundreds of scenarios catering to all kinds of genres. With so many scenarios on offer, though, it can be hard to know where to start. We've compiled a shortlist of community favorites to highlight some gems worth your time. Whether you're a seasoned interactive fiction veteran or just getting started, these standout experiences are worth checking out.
I'm Timevir on the DreamGen site and Discord, and I curated this list based on my own experience with these scenarios. Each scenario featured in this list was sent in by our community members for consideration. Every scenario was hand-tested to make sure it earned its place. This isn't a ranking or a definitive best-of list, just ten standout picks that show off the range of what DreamGen scenarios can do.
Call of Duty : Cooked Over

Author: Zarazandra
Scenario Definition Tokens: 9311
Tags: Adventure, Thriller, Action, Female POV, Game, Organized Crime, Call of Duty
Recommended Model: GLM 5
Based on the popular video game series, Call of Duty: Cooked Over reinvents the events of the games with a radical twist. You play as a woman fleeing the Camorra with the cover name Adriana Marcelli. You enlist as a cook in an SAS compound, trying to keep yourself hidden from your former life, but attracting the attention of Ghost, who is suspicious of backstory and tries to test it by forcing a confrontation. The pot of porridge spills, but will your secrets?
This scenario is lovingly rendered with an epic attention to detail, with highly in-depth backgrounds for the members of Task Force 141, including their personalities, relationships and personal histories. However, the blend of themes gives the story an opportunity to veer into so many different other genres.
In one playthrough, I was trying to destroy some evidence linking Adriana back to her former life. She was successful in doing so, but as soon as she was back in the kitchen, Ghost was waiting, catching me red-handed in my subterfuge. Instead of punishment, Ghost offered a way out, but only if I could prove my loyalty in defeating an incoming Camorra raid on the compound itself.
The ability to progress through a large variety of situations — spanning from stealth to intrigue to battle — makes this scenario an easy recommendation.
Love and Deepspace

Author: Jordie
Scenario Definition Tokens: 10712
Tags: Romance, Action, Group, Female POV, Male POV, Game, Sci-Fi, Boyfriend
Recommended Model: DeepSeek 4 Pro
Love and Deepspace, based on the 3D otome game of the same name, is a masterfully crafted scenario pushing the limits of DreamGen’s platform. With five different openings and two different personas to choose from, fans of the game series will enjoy being able to interact with the love interests through the power of AI. Each interest has been crafted with deep respect for their lore with their own personalities, quirks and history, resulting in an authentic yet fresh experience.
The scenario is highly tuned to the canon of the game, with extensive detailing of history, locations and auxiliary characters that will be drawn from during your playthrough.
Despite not knowing the lore, I was able to enjoy a session as a retrograde amnesiac, where Doctor Zayne treated MC, my female-option character. The sheer strength of the details embedded in the scenario definition meant the characters were able to bring me up to speed, what my job as a Deepspace Hunter entailed, all while rediscovering my character's amnesia-obscured relationship with Xavier.
Alternative scenarios can be found on Jordie’s user page, extending the detail and depth for specific love interests if that is more interesting to you. This scenario is specifically designed to allow you to engage with all five.
Miss Pink Elf

Scenario Definition Tokens: 3373
Tags: Cozy, Slice of Life, Female Char, Group, Game
Recommended Model: GLM 4.7
Miss Pink Elf is an alternative universe scenario based on Honkai: Star Rail where the events of the game didn’t happen, and the characters of the game instead live in a streamer house.
Miss Pink Elf features an authentic simulation of a livestreaming platform, with the entire scenario taking place within a simulated stream chat. The chat is filled with a mixture of Honkai characters, livestream chatter stereotypes and streamer bots. Each character has a badge, representing the level of subscription that character has for the stream. This scenario is so good at immersing you that you’ll soon forget you aren’t watching a real livestream with unintelligible spam.
I tried playing as a Starcraft streamer raiding Elysia in the middle of a cooking stream. The antics escalated as the stream chat began discussing the merits of comparing strategy gaming build orders to cooking recipes. Hilarity ensued as the distracting conversation caused slip ups in the kitchen.
If you want to see how a DreamGen scenario can handle special formatting while keeping the token count low, this is a great template to draw ideas from.
Владыка Демонов (The False Demon Lord’s Throne)

Author: Ross
Scenario Definition Tokens: 1991
Tags: Fantasy, LitRPG, Horror, Politics, Mystery, Supernatural
Recommended Model: Gemma 4 26B A4B
The False Demon Lord’s Throne is an original work by Ross, who shares his name with the protagonist of this scenario. Set in Hell, you have been summoned by Silia, loyal servant of the throne, to rule over it as a replacement for the previous Shadow Lord who has vanished.
This scenario is set by default to play in Russian, but is easily convertible by changing the system response language in the plot box and changing the character names to their counterparts in your language. (For example,”Астарот” becomes “Astaroth”.)
In my playthrough, the demon Astaroth threatens to start a war and take the throne by force. I soon found out that the chaos left behind by the sudden absence of the prior Shadow Lord meant that my loyal armies were woefully unprepared to handle the incoming onslaught. I played a game of cunning manipulation to recruit the aid of Asmodeus and Beelzebub to bolster my own demonic armies. With their support, I cemented my position as the next Shadow Lord.
Despite a smaller scenario definition, the common cultural lore this scenario draws upon makes it run flawlessly on the cheaper models, making it an easy recommendation for a free user.
DreamGen Companion

Recommended Model: Gemma 4 26B A4B
The first of our tool scenarios, DreamGen Companion is a helpful assistant that helps you build scenarios in the DreamGen platform. It can give you advice on creating your blocks, how to write them to maximize their effectiveness without overusing your tokens.
You can set the modes and tone of the companion, which lets you choose a style of discussion, helpful when writing for specific genres or to find a personality that reflects the kind of work you are doing. For example, I found that using the System Architect with Deep Dive let the bot focus on delivering the information with as much density and thoroughness as possible without consideration for ease of reading, which fitted the technical details I wanted from it.
It is best used as a second tab while you are building out your own scenario. With its low scenario definition size, this can be easily used by a free user. You can easily set the input token bar to the minimum 4000 tokens and it’ll still work fine.
It is not connected to the internet, and won’t be able to read documentation for you, but it does know the links to relevant documents that you may need to read.
System Prompt Procedural Generator

Recommended Model: GLM 4.7
System Prompt Procedural Generator is a helpful tool enabling you to create your very own scenario for DreamGen. This tool operates as a conversation with the avatars of three helpful characters, each representing one of the core building blocks of a scenario.
- Plot works with you on implementing the important rules that make your scenario work.
- Setting assists with detailing the worldbuilding that fleshes out your scenario.
- Style guides the model writing styles to match your story needs; adding writing details, emotional textures and formatting rules.
With a back and forth conversation with these three characters, you can formalize your key blocks in a guided process that will give you a solid foundation for a scenario. Each character understands how to create well balanced prompts that will work well with the platform’s models while keeping token counts reasonable.
This is one of the easiest ways to start your very own scenario, and if you’re thinking about becoming a creator, this is a great place to start.
Signs and Misunderstandings: A God-Game

Author: VrockTimeSlayer
Scenario Definition Tokens: 2993

Recommended Model: GLM 4.7 (With Thinking)
Signs and Misunderstandings is a gamified scenario where you play the role of a deity trying to steer a civilization into success or failure through indirect communication. You can choose a species, domain and your deity name and are then immediately thrown onto the divine throne.
Using a CYOA format, the game narrates events and offers you a selection of choices. It also gives you a selection of actions. Your choices will impact the world and how your civilization responds to you. The kicker is that the villagers will misinterpret your intentions, steering the events in ways you may not necessarily expect.
I tried playing as a God of Chaos worshiped by humans. The village priest started the session by informing me of a rat infestation that was plaguing the village. As a chaotic being, I sent cats to counter them, but the cats I summoned were shapeshifters! The villagers saw this as a signal that shapes and forms should be malleable, and decided to alter the architecture of their buildings from practical shapes into wild artistic ones. The new messy layout caused general disorganization in the supply lines of the village, leading to the next problem.
If you want to see how you can implement a game in DreamGen, this scenario is an excellent reference.
Escape From Yandere

Author: Taco
Scenario Definition Tokens: 2435
Tags: Horror, Thriller, Mystery, Romance, Female Char, Yandere, Dominant, Male POV, Game
Recommended Model: GLM 5 (with Thinking)
Escape From Yandere is another gamified scenario with a horror-based theme. Your goal is to survive a horrifying date with an unstable woman named Yuki, who has planned the perfect Valentine’s Day. Of course, she hasn’t consulted you about it.
You are given a narrative to read along, but also have to manage a few resource-like stats like Love, Suspicion, Clarity, Fracture and Noise. Each action you take will influence Yuki’s behaviors and will need to be carefully managed for you to make your escape successfully.
I tried a few different strategies, including careful maneuvering, appeasement, and brute force — each dramatically changing the dynamic. This is a really fun challenge assuming you can endure Yuki’s terrifying nature!
Make sure you set the V2 Prompt on the new Prompt Builder setting for the best experience and improved reliability of instruction interpretation.
Team Karasu

Author: Dattebayo
Scenario Definition Tokens: 3744
Tags: Action, Thriller, Adventure, Politics, Fantasy, Group, Male Char, Female Char, Anime, Naruto
Recommended Model: Kimi K2.5
Team Karasu has a really interesting crossover theme, featuring both Naruto-style ninjas and military fiction. You are the new recruit to a squad, replacing a former fallen squadmate. The team is still reeling from their recent loss, and you must find a way to integrate with them.
Each squadmate has a key theme relating to loss. Snake for instance tries to hide his feelings about the situation, pretending he doesn’t have them at all. Cat expresses regret about joining the squad in the first place.
In my scenario, I went through training before my first deployment with the squad, interacting with each of the characters, trying to prove that while I could not replace Sparrow's legacy, I was worthy of demonstrating a new way forward.
Kimi’s flowery language makes it a great model choice to run this scenario.
The Butterfly Code

Author: EntSec1
Scenario Definition Tokens: 4997
Tags: Sci-Fi, Horror, Thriller, Mystery, Adventure, Fantasy, Romance, Action, Historical, Supernatural, Male Char, Female Char, Male POV
Recommended Model: GLM 4.7 (with Thinking)
The Butterfly Code takes the sandbox concept of roleplaying to another level. Rather than restricting you to a single setting, the Butterfly Code allows you to play as a time traveller named Ben, recently divorced. His ex-wife is a temporal anchor, meaning that she always exists regardless of any alteration to the timeline, but the exact history with her will shift based on the actions taken in the past.
You can try small alterations or grand historical pivots. In my playthrough, I joined a resistance fighter in the 4th Arrondissement of Paris in 1942, helping the local people smuggle at the height of Nazi occupation. I soon find out that the smuggling operation isn’t merely crates of potatoes, but explosives, designed to blow up a local office belonging to the occupiers.
This impacted the modern day by changing the nature of the French resistance. Explosives became a more favored form of resistance, and Paris would end up having a post-war architectural renaissance. This changed the ex-wife’s teenage influences and she would end up becoming an architect.
If you want something surprising and unique, the Butterfly Code is the scenario for you.
That wraps up our ten standout scenarios.
